Immunizations

Saint Joseph Catholic School complies with the State of Texas, Department of Health regulations regarding immunizations. We are subject to audit by the state and require strict adherence to the regulations that keep all students safe and healthy. Therefore, accurate recording of a child’s immunizations is very important for our schools records. Submission of your child’s immunization records is required before school begins.

We may exclude your child from attending school until she/he is properly immunized. No “moral conscience” exemptions will be granted. The only valid exemption is a medical exemption. The month, day and year of vaccine administration of disease must be recorded in all new school records initiated and in existing records updated after September 1, 1991. A certificate signed and dated by a physician licensed to practice medicine in the United States stating that the child has had measles or mumps disease may be accepted in lieu of vaccine.
